Through the primary goal of cancer treatment is to cure cancer. Such treatment can sometimes lead to a loss of function or a deformity. Surgical with a poor quality of life is not acceptable to any patient .The plastic and reconstructive surgery department in MNJIO & RCC was thus started with an aim to improve the quality of life by correcting deformities and restoring normal function after cancer treatment.

Presently the department has two faculty members, who handle at least 150 Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery cases a year. One clinical faculty is expert in state-of- art microvascular surgical techniques to achieve the best possible out comes. In most cases, reconstruction is performed immediately after the tumor has removed.
